At Redwing there are many things to see and do whilst visiting. There are plenty of options both on the farm and around the region. We have pulled together a list of ideas to help you plan your visit.
We are often asked ‘what are some things we can do whilst at the farm?”
What follows is just a small list. These amongst many other things :
Feed and pat the animals at your leisure
Play the giant outdoor games
Use the bikes to ride around the property
Roast marshmallows at the fire pit
Look for eggs in the poultry yard
Have a BBQ overlooking the paddocks
Wander through "The Shed" (provided it is not being used)
Use our signage to read up about the animals, farming calendar and local history
Collect some grain from the Signed bin to grow at home
Walk the property
Chickens
We like to call them ‘The Funnies’! If you have any food scraps you are welcome to feed the chickens – they will be your friends forever!
Sheep
The sheep you will see at Redwing are Merino’s or crossbreds.
Pigs
Come and say hello to Boris and family.
Dogs
Come and say hello to McGee the super social Border Collie and beautiful Maxi the Golden Retriever.
Ducks
There are some Khaki Campbell and Indian Runner ducks amongst the chickens. These guys are great for cleaning up snails. They also enjoy food scraps – if they can get in before the chickens do.
Cows
Our two Dexter cows, Ranga and Caesar, are a miniature breed, so this is as big as they get. Patches is a Friesian
cow, he may grow bigger.
Things to do on the Copper Coast:
Redwing Farm is just a 10 minute drive from all the activities of the Cooper Coast.
From Splashtown in summer to fishing and boating, golfing, shopping- the range and opportunity is enormous. You can vist our very own National Heritage Site at Moonta and ride the trains - there is also a night time ride.
Have a look at the Copper Coast Website to find out more. Why not make a day of it and visit other activities on the Copper Coast.
